The Canary
Collection dates back to 1980 and the entities
Philadelphia Music Works and Broadcast Results Group.
In 1972, Andy Mark founded
Philadelphia Music Works (PMW) which produced over
10,000 national, regional and local advertiser jingles
for radio and television. By 1980, Andy wanted a
complimentary product to the jingle business so the Canary Production Music Library
was hatched. Throughout the 1980s, Canary
Productions (a division of PMW) marketed the Canary
library to radio stations as well as video producers,
cable and broadcast TV, corporate communications
departments, message-on-hold services and educational
institutions.
In the early 1990s, Mr. Mark formed
Broadcast Results Group (BRg) to produce and barter
production music libraries to radio stations.
BRg's very first product was the revamped Canary
Production Music Library, renamed The Canary
Collection. Our ubiquitous yellow CDs can
still be found in over 2500 radio stations across the
U.S., not to mention thousands of educational
institutions (universities, school districts,
individual schools), video production houses and major
corporations. We have customers in over 40
different countries, not including the U.S. and
Canada. For a short list of Canary
clients, click here.
In 1995 and 1996, Premiere Radio
Networks acquired both Philadelphia Music Works and
Broadcast Results Group, creatively fusing the two
companies into Premiere's music library and jingle
division, BRg Music Works. Today, BRg
Music Works markets The Canary Collection to
all business/industry types on a buy-out basis while
maintaining several other barter-only music libraries
for radio clientele. Andy Mark remains the
driving force behind Canary as the President of BRg
Music Works.

The music comprising The Canary
Collection (as well as BRg's other libraries) is written and produced by the industry's
finest musicians. They have amassed not only an
impressive array of industry awards and accolades, but
a fine resume as well. Our writers and producers
have recorded and/or performed with David Bowie, Bonnie Raitt,
Roger Waters, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Joan Osborne,
Sophie B. Hawkins, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper,
Patty Smyth and Scandal, The Hooters, Van Morrison,
D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Sinead O'Connor,
Shania Twain and scores of others.
